April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Join the fight!

Together we can prevent, reduce, and put an end to child abuse in New York and across the country. Here are a few simple steps each of us can follow to improve child welfare:

  • Recognize the signs of abuse or maltreatment.
  • Locate and share resources.
  • Build protective factors, like positive social connections and parental resilience.

The Office of Children and Family Services is a helpful resource. Its Protective Factors calendar serves as a reminder of ways we all can build stronger families and help end abuse and neglect. Download the calendar (available in English, Spanish and Chinese) here.
